Laura’s expertise in Biblical counselling reflects a high level and she is dedicated to providing ongoing support and guidance. Her ability to ask the right questions has encouraged me to open up, and I have always found her to be attentive and compassionate. She works in a calming way and put me at ease from the start. Understanding, caring and non-judgemental, I always feel that I can go to her with anything and she will help me to think about it, face up to the truth around it, and then help me to deal with it.
When I first came to Laura I was struggling with so many different things that I didn't even know where to start. I was anxious, depressed, having problems in relationships, suffering from an eating disorder and just felt utterly lost. Since then there have been many times that she has given me support, and I feel that she has been involved and alongside me in so many aspects of my personal and spiritual development.
The best part about the way Laura works is that she is always up front and honest and you know that what she is saying is 100% true to what the Bible teaches. She has helped me to see the bigger picture and from God’s view, and not to focus on a narrow ‘worldly’ view. Learning to do this has been paramount in helping me to stay in faith and carry on despite adversity.
I've always been encouraged by the way Laura gives tips and ideas of ways to keep my communication open with God. She helped me to find ways that worked for me, and even when I didn't feel like doing them she would remind me to keep doing it anyway.
Laura works in a creative and unique way which accommodates individual personalities and interests. She knew I was interested in art and photography so would teach me things about God through imagery too. Laura helps to develop new habits and to find different ways to act and feel. A few examples of things that I have changed as a result of the work we have done together are: daily confessions and worship, spending time reading my Bible, praying throughout the day especially when I feel overwhelmed, taking time out and remembering that God is with me and He will always carry me through all situations, and being understanding of others needs as well as my own.
In my personal experience Laura helps me to get back on track when I've lost direction and feel hopeless. She helps me to put my trust back into God’s hands. She has such a big influence on helping my progress that I will be eternally grateful and would recommend her to all who need freedom from life's fears and troubles.'

The past 3 years have been the most fulfilling of my life. It was by the grace of God that I've come to know Laura and as a result given my heart to the Lord. She has been a real sister to me, giving me godly counselling and helping me to understand God's love for me.
What impressed me most about her is that she genuinely cares about others. We have had sessions together where her humanity and love comes out in such a way as to inspire you to grow as a person. She is truly a vessel inspired by God to change lives and heal heartaches.
Not one to sugar-coat issues, Laura's level of honesty in confronting the truth was a refreshing change in my life. My husband and I have struggled for years to have a family and with Laura's guidance, the change in me has certainly made a difference in our relationship and in turn our new little family! I wake up with a new sense of worth every day and thank God that our paths crossed.

I guess there comes a time in most of our lives where we need to talk to someone other than the ones we love about our fears, worries, hopes and dreams. When I met Laura, her love for Jesus and welcoming nature made me feel safe and gave me the confidence to talk about all that was on my heart and in my mind. You may know the feeling - it's like being in a whirlpool of negative thoughts and emotions and you just get drawn deeper and deeper into them until you are possessed by them and can’t think of anything else.
Laura’s attentiveness encouraged me to open up, and she listened with patience and asked relevant questions that clarified my thoughts as I considered and answered them. Our conversations were relaxed and I appreciated her honesty even though it is not always easy to be confronted with the truth. We discussed different ways to act and feel and her knowledge of the Bible helped me to know that change is indeed possible! As Jesus said in John 8:31-32: “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” And I needed that freedom!
Since our get-togethers, I am calmer about the future and know better how to deal with issues that come across my path from time to time that seem huge. I still meet with Laura to deal with and pray about all sorts of things. It is great to know I have someone to go to who will listen and help me to make sense of all the things going on in my life.

When my marriage started to break up I was referred to Laura by a mutual friend, after she felt she wasn't equipped to help me any further. Even though I came to her in a state of crisis and completely overwhelmed, I immediately felt relieved and safe. She quickly became the voice of reason in my confusion, as she led me to include and trust God fully in my awful situation. At that stage, and for some time afterwards, the hour I spent with her was the sanest part of my day, and my week. I got from her what I somehow couldn't receive from anyone else at the time, maybe they were too close to me, or didn't properly understand what I needed. I didn't even understand, I was in so much pain.
Without being obvious, our sessions were professional, prepared and structured, always with a distinct and positive goal in mind. She even gave me homework! But it kept me focused and gave me hope. As things developed, we dealt with them together, always relying heavily on the Holy Spirit to do what neither of us could do.
We dealt with so many hard and very personal issues: my husband's unfaithfulness, lies, anger, hatred, unforgiveness, unfairness, grief, stress, fear, loss, various influences and perceptions, our children, other family members, lawyers, finances, resources, motives, objectives, I could go on. But we always came back to what the Bible says, and how to make it practical to my circumstances.
I eventually realised that I had viewed this crisis basically the same as an unbeliever - apart from God and His purpose. Laura was able to restructure the whole picture as one in which God was at work, achieving His purposes throughout it all for my good, and in a way to honour His Son. This profoundly changed my crisis as it took on a totally new dimension. When it became a crisis in which God was involved, it became one I knew I could survive, regardless of the outcome.

Laura has been volunteering as an Online Coach with us since 2013 and I have nothing but praise for the way she has helped those coming to us looking for help and hope. Laura has a wonderful way with people putting them quickly at ease enabling them to feel able to talk about what is really of concern to them. Without being judgemental Laura listens well and guides those she is helping in a positive direction that will really make a difference to their perception of their situation and their ability to cope and find lasting hope. We have been really pleased to have Laura as one of our volunteers.
