Why Counselling?

At some point in our lives we can all experience emotions and circumstances that we are unable to make sense of or resolve without help. These may include feeling lost, confused, depressed and anxious, stressed, angry and frustrated or even shocked or afraid. Not knowing what to do or how to respond to these emotions and in such situations often makes us feel helpless, alone and trapped.

How can we process something we cannot understand?

How can we move forward when we have lost any sense of purpose and meaning?

The Answer lies here.....

Counselling From A Biblical Perspective

Professing and cultural Christians often underestimate the power of God's Word by thinking a Biblical approach is too simplistic, and that the resources that God prescribes in the Bible are inadequate. The world around us implies that the substantial insights necessary for counselling people with major non-physical difficulties must be obtained from sources other than Christ, the Bible and the Church.

So, where might Christians go to find the truth necessary to help them when they are hurting?

Some Christians seek the answer to that question beyond and outside the pages of Scripture, believing in what has been discovered by human investigation and observations, rather than using the resources God has already provided through His Scriptures.

The Solution Is.....

By confiding in a Biblical counsellor, clients are able to discuss their emotional circumstances in depth and together with the help of the counsellor, use the resources God has already provided in the Bible   to resolve their issues.

Effective Biblical counselling is dependent on this one essential thing..... that the counsellor's analysis and counsel is true. Therefore any thoughtful consideration must begin with the most basic of all philosophical questions ‘What is truth?’ As Christians, we have the assurance of Jesus' answer to the question of truth, when Jesus addressed His heavenly Father in prayer; He stated simply, 'Thy Word is truth'. (John 17:17)
